We finished the mini. That's really the only positive thing about the whole experience--that and the weather turned out to be beautiful. We only experienced a couple sprinkles while we were making our way to the start line. Dusten was refusing to do it in the rain, so I am glad it turned out to be a nice day. We walked almost the whole thing. We proabably only ran the first mile, because Dusten's knee hurt. As we got to the end, I started to hurt everywhere, and so I would run ahead, because running was less painful than walking. Dusten told me to stop, because when I would run ahead he felt like quitting, so we did it together and finished together. Hopefully there are some good pictures. But for the record, I would have kicked his butt if he hadn't been there.
We came home and slept. Dusten said we should shower first, but I said, "No, I'll just wash the sheets". So we slept for most of the afternoon and then we went out for pizza, watched Marley and Me, and crashed again. After we got home yesterday, all Dusten kept saying was "That was a horrible idea," and "I can't believe you talked me into doing that." "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." But he's wrong. It was a good idea to do the mini together. It was a bad idea not to train to do the mini.
This morning we could hardly move. Dusten's knee is feeling better (he can bend it) but we are both moving really slow. So slow that I'll probably have to get up early for work tomorrow so I have enough time to get dressed.
I don't remember it being this painful last year. All I remember from last year is that my feet hurt. But of course I actually trained for it last year.
So we won't be doing it again, at least for a long time. Dusten said that if he ever says he wants to do it again that we should punch him, so keep that in mind.
